The Julius Fleischman Scholarship for Blind or Visually Impaired Students

The Julius Fleischman Scholarship for Blind or Visually Impaired Students was established by a gift from Julius Fleischman to assist students who are legally blind.

The scholarships given by the Julius Fleischman Foundation for the Blind and Visually-Impaired are intended to help blind and visually impaired students enhance their opportunities for personal and academic advancement. This scholarship can be applied to one year of academic work and is available to students in any discipline of study at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Students can reapply for the Fleischman scholarship on an annual basis. The number of scholarships and the amount of each award are determined each year.


The Mei Yuen Hoover Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

This Mei Yuen Hoover scholarship was established in 1999 by a bequest from Mei Yuen Hoover and is intended to offer financial assistance specifically to students with disabilities who wish to study in GW’s Columbian College of Arts and Sciences.

This scholarship can be applied to one year of academic work and is available to Columbian College students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Students can reapply for the Hoover scholarship on an annual basis.

The number of scholarships and the amount of each award are determined each year.


The Lillian and Jerome Brawer Memorial Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Scott Samuel Brawer ’73 is a graduate of GW. This gift is dedicated to him and is offered to students with disabilities who are studying in GW schools other than the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (CCAS).

This scholarship can be applied to one year of academic work and is available to students in any discipline of study outside of CCAS at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Students can reapply for the Brawer gift on an annual basis. The number of gifts and the amount of each award are determined each year.
