Melissa Anderson
Mel is a higher education professional passionate about helping all students find their place. Her career in higher ed began at UMass Amherst, where she worked as an undergraduate employee in the New Student and Family Programs Office. After obtaining her bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2023, Mel moved back to her home state of Maryland and served as an Administrative Assistant for Community Options, Inc., a non-profit service provider for adults with disabilities. She now serves as their special projects liaison, and runs the Cupid's Chase 5k every year! After being at GW for two years now, Mel has gained experience working with alumni relations, first-gen & military/veteran student populations, and DSA's executive leadership.
