Over her extensive and varied career in education, Karalyn’s focus has been working with diverse learners, including students with disabilities, to increase access to educational opportunities. Prior to joining GW’s Disability Support Services, Karalyn was a special education teacher for nine years at culturally and linguistically diverse Title I schools in Fairfax County Public Schools, Virginia’s largest school district. Karalyn now enjoys applying her skills and experience as a special educator and case manager to support students with disabilities at the post-secondary level.

Karalyn earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude with a double major in English and Environmental Studies and a minor in Urban Studies. Karalyn received her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Virginia.
