Shannon Bernick

Shannon is a seasoned higher‑education administrator with a national record of supporting students with disabilities across diverse postsecondary and K–12 learning environments. Previously, she directed an academic support program for learners with language‑based and neurological differences, served as an accessibility specialist, and worked as an inclusion teacher. Together, these roles reflect her long‑standing commitment to accessibility and continue to shape her student‑centered work at GW. 

Shannon holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration, a Master of Education, a Master of Social Work, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is a licensed PreK–8 educator and certified PreK–12 school social worker, credentials that underscore her broad preparation in student support systems across the educational landscape.
